Purchasing Heatka Heated Desk Pads through Access to Work

Heatka has been recommended and approved through Access to Work assessments for employees managing conditions that affect hand function and comfort at a desk — including Raynaud's, scleroderma, lupus, and other conditions that cause cold hands, reduced circulation, or temperature sensitivity during desk work.

If you have been recommended Heatka through an Access to Work assessment, or you are an employer processing a purchase on behalf of an employee, this page covers everything you need.

For employees

What is Access to Work?

Access to Work is a government grant scheme run by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) that helps disabled people and those with health conditions stay in or return to work. It can fund specialist equipment, workplace adjustments, and support that your employer would not otherwise be expected to provide.

You do not need a formal disability diagnosis to qualify. If your condition significantly affects your ability to work comfortably and productively, you may be eligible.

Can Heatka be funded through Access to Work?

Yes. Heatka has been recommended and funded through multiple Access to Work assessments as a workplace adjustment for employees whose conditions cause cold hands, numbness, or reduced hand function at a desk. It is typically assessed under specialist equipment or ergonomic adjustment.

What to tell your assessor

If you are preparing for an Access to Work assessment, or if your assessor asks about your needs, here is how to describe what Heatka does:

"I experience cold hands and reduced circulation at my desk due to [your condition]. Standard remedies such as gloves interfere with my ability to type and use a mouse. A heated desk surface would allow me to maintain hand warmth and circulation throughout the working day without restricting my movement or dexterity."

You can also direct your assessor to this page, or to our product page at heatka.co.uk, for full product information.
